Thanks to the WFH situation, I found out that the skillset from a highly stigmatized job is more transferrable than you think (even for a vastly different profession)

Don’t Be Tunnel Visioned

She sees the value in forming long term prospects, even if she may not be able to close the deal now or in the near future. She understands that if she is to be there for the prospect now while other insurance agents may brush them aside because of the prospect’s inability to commit presently, he/she will be inclined to work with her in the future when they can eventually afford it.

How does it apply to me?
I am a Software Developer and I am spoilt from my job because of the Instant Gratification; I change my code and I see the effect of my change after running the program, almost immediately. Sometimes I fail to see the value of things which take time before its benefits can be reaped.

Writing documentation, for one. It may not be well-utilized now (only the lead reads it currently) during design & build phase but when this phase comes to an end and someone else has to take over these codes, documentation will become one of the most important assets.
